Dear Dr
I wonder if you could advise about this new product I got from Europe, by Vichy Dercos, called Aminixil SP94
I have been using it for almost 3 weeks, for my diffused hair loss due to stress,
I was not aware of your product until today
It has finally stopped the shedding (which had been massive over one and half month) but when I did not use it for only one night, the day after, when I reapplied it, I experienced
a massive shed, soon after,
The main ingredient is called :
DIAMINOPYRAMIDINE OXIDE, which after some research I realized is almost the same as the one in Minoxidil, except with some vitamin and glucose added, but on the box it states it also has an anti DHT component, and increases the collagen in the hair follicle, so it also stops hair shedding
But now, by reading your posts, I realize then why I had this hair shedding all of a sudden again.
I am very concerned, and my questions to you are:
1st) Could you confirm with me that the molecule mentioned above is the same as Minoxidil?
2nd) Are you familiar with Aminixil SP94? Is it a little different from Minoxidil, as it also has an anti DHT included ?
3rd) If I start to use Revivogen, will this last also make me shed, as my hair is become clearly addicted to Aminixil?
4th) How do you mean "tapering slowly" the dose of Aminixil? Like, using half a bottle a day? Or using 3 days yes and one no? Or every other day one dose?
5)is it safe to start to lowering the dose even if I just do not have the Revivogen yet (time to arrive by mail) , or do I have to wait until i have Revivogen product and can use it first?

Dear Lenah,
The Vichy contains Aminixil which according to the company works to 'unstiffen' the hair follicle. Stiffened hair follicles have not been proven to be the cause of hair loss. There is no literature that Aminixil works like Minoxidil. Therefore your hair follicles should not become addicted to that molecule. Please discontinue the use of Aminixil and begin the use of Revivogen as soon as you receive it. Please keep us updated on your progress.
