Question:
Hi Doctor,
My scalp is always very oily and I have to clean my scalp every night. (As a related issue, I seem to understand from some websites that oily scalp could trigger/worsen hair loss. is that true from the medical point of view?).
i have been using Regaina for more than 4 months, and I apply it twice a day, once at night and once in the morning. As almost no improvement be seen at all, I am going to use revivogen too. So, the problem is
1) I understand that the Regaina will have shedding initially. So does Revivogen. By using these two products together, will the shedding effect be doubled ? Or, no matter which product I am using (or even both at the same time), the shedding effect will generally be the same, perhaps just a matter of how fast the shedding is ?
2) I also understand that the more the DHT, the more the oily scalp will be. So, with the use of revivogen (DHT blocker), would the oily scalp condiiton be improved ? But, indeed, revivogen by itself is an oily treatment.
3) I noticed from some of your previous responses that it is recommended to apply the revivogen at night, then wash the hairs in the morning on the following day. However, the problem is that my scalp is too oily, and if i dont clean my scalp at night, then I have to apply the revivogen onto the oily surface. I dont think it is good. Am I right ? The oily problem will get even worst as the summer in Mid East is coming soon. What would you suggest ? Clean the scalp twice a day ?
4) final question. I am male but the hair loss pattern that I have is not MBP. Instead, its an overall thinning over the scalp. Thats also the problem that I come across when applying the regaine. Its not quite possible to apply evenly and completely onto the whole scalp. I think I will encounter the same problem when applying revivogen. Would you suggest ?
many thanks
1) The shedding from Regaine must have already occured. If you have no shedding then you should have confidence that you will less likely have shedding with Revivogen. 2) The oily condition on your scalp should improve. Do you notice flacking and itching along with the oily scalp? 3) If your scalp is very oily then you should consider washing your scalp twice daily. 4) We would advise you to apply Revivogen over the entire scalpl. Please keep us updated on your progress.
